TLH inspired...
Welcome to TLHinspired a place where crystals meet their destiny to become wearable empowerment’s of intention and healing (commonly known as sterling silver designer jewellery).
I am Tina Horton Brisbane based Metalsmith, Creative Specialist, Designer & Travel Enthusiast. I invite you to come on a journey with me to discover a world of molten metal, magic & happiness. Just for reference I handcraft every piece of “inspired” jewellery using recycled sterling silver and ethically sourced gemstones. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to purchase "old collection" of Australian gemstones from retired fossickers, what I love about these collections is the fact that they have been fossicked by hand through blood, sweat, tears and the love of the hobby (ethically sourced).
I don’t want to bore you, however a little bit about myself. My grandmother always said i was born with a “tinny streak”, to her this meant I have incredible “luck”. For me I have come to understand that I am able to manifest that in which I require and work towards with dedication, focus & enery. I have a strong intuitive ability, an unwavering belief of the silver lining and that things happen for a reason (better things are yet to come).
As a child I always had an interest in crystals, rocks and natural shiny things. 2007 lead me to joining Mt Gravatt Lapidary Society, where I was about to start my journey into the ancient art of Lapidary - cutting & polishing rocks. I always say the gemstone "talks" to you, it's about looking, listening and making the most out of the pattern within the rock. Listening to the gemstones is easy for me, they tell you what they want to be when they grow up; shape, cut, size etc. I think this is part of my creative vision.
In 2012, I felt the need to move from cutting to setting and my journey in metal-smithing began. I am self taught and learn as much from listening to each crystal as I do from YouTube. 2016 saw TLH Inspired born after I was asked by random people to make them that special piece. My skills & knowledge is always expanding and the last 12months has seen rapid developments of trust and belief in self and the greater good. Now having over 10years experience in Lapidary and silversmithing I am confident in creating bespoke pieces that embody the essence of the wearer.
If you ever fall madly in love with a piece of TLH Inspired piece, rest assured that it has been made in love and creativity just for you.

Meet the Makers
TLH Inspired is a micro business, where every piece is designed & handcrafted in my Thornlands studio.
my inspiration |
The biggest influence in my work is nature, I especially love water, the way it flows, the impact it has on rocks and the animals that have adapted to be so graceful underwater. You will see this influence throughout all my work (or I do), it tends to flow like the different natural bodies of water. For example a piece may be still and peaceful like a lake however the next piece I create may be hectic and chaotic, like a white water rapid. You will find other elements of nature in my work like the shape of the leaf on a tree or just a tree itself. As I mentioned above I love lapidary and rocks, gems and minerals will be incorporated into my jewellery making, sometimes just a small highlight other times they are the main element.

my background |
My childhood was a simple happy life with both my parents working full time. Growing up we spent a great deal of time on the Sunshine Coast - Coolum to be exact. To this day I still love everything associated with surf, sun & fun. Although my family life is simple my career tends to be more of an adventure of challenges and learning. I currently hold Qualifications in Graphic Design, Remedial Therapies, Project Management & Marketing. During my career I have held many positions including retail management, business management, senior graphic designer, editor and now my recent position as marketing co-ordinator. No matter the job there is always an element of creativity & design.
